List of Officers of the 55th Regiment
During the Period of the American Revolution

Above left: an officer of the 55th foot ca. 1790. This colored engraving resides in the Regimental Museum in Carlisle Castle. Above right: "Captain St. Leger" by Sir Joshua Reynolds, ca. 1778. I believe that this portrait is of Captain John Hayes St. Leger of the 55th of Foot's grenadier company. Note the similarity in detail of the two uniforms.
